Recommendations

Dear Brothers:

I am honored to recommend the family and ministry of Patrick and Emily O’Brien to you as pastor of their sending church.

When I think of the O’Briens, I think of the word “faithfulness.” As active members of Berean prior to leaving for the mission field, they were faithfully involved in several aspects of the ministry here. During the long months of deputation, Patrick and Emily faithfully prayed for and pursued the Lord’s provision for their ministry. Since arriving on the field, I have witnessed their faithful commitment to the Lord’s calling to the work in Newfoundland.

I have visited them on several occasions and can tell you that the O’Briens labor in a very difficult place when it comes to reaching people for Christ and planting a church. Through the Lord’s blessing on their faithfulness over the years, people have been reached and the work goes forward. It has certainly not been easy for them, especially in these last couple of years through the pandemic, yet they have anchored themselves to the Lord’s faithfulness and remain steadfast in what they have been called to do.

I ask that you prayerfully consider having them to your church and supporting them in their ministry.

For God’s glory,

Pastor Joe Bowker

Pastor of Berean Baptist Church Macon, Georgia

Dear Pastor:

It is always a delight for me to see how God works in the lives of His people to accomplish His plan and purpose.  A young man from Georgia enrolls at Ambassador Baptist College to prepare for ministry.  A young lady from Maine also enrolls at Ambassador.  As friends and classmates they enjoy classes, social activities, ministry opportunities, and church ministry opportunities.  Then one day they wake up to the fact that they not only both have a heart for God and a heart for missions, but they also have a heart for each other!  Thus goes the story of Patrick and Emily O’Brien.

Patrick and Emily have long had a heart for Newfoundland, Canada, and have patiently and carefully laid the groundwork needed for a ministry in that needy country.  To solidify their calling, Patrick spent an internship in Newfoundland.  After completing their college training, the O’Briens served under a pastor in Tennessee for needed hands-on local church ministry training.  They have relocated their family to their sending church to place themselves under the authority of their local church for their deputation and for their ministry in Newfoundland.

The O’Briens are solid, faithful servants of our Lord. They have maintained an exemplary testimony, and I am confident that God will use them in a wonderful way in Newfoundland.  They have a genuine burden for the people of that land where there is a dearth of Gospel witness.  Pastor, may I encourage you to prayerfully consider what your church can do to see the O’Briens quickly reach their field of service?

Because of Calvary,

Ron Comfort
